Crispy Sesame Halloumi with Tomato and Chili Sauce!

Ingredients
For the sauce
- 300 g. of concentrated Tomato juice
- ½ teaspoon Chili
- 250 g. Sugar
- ● 100 ml Water
- ● 100 ml Vinegar
- ● 1 spoonful of tomato paste
- ● Salt
For the halloumi
- 500 g. Pissourkotiko Traditional Sheep Halloumi Charalambides Christis (cut into sticks)
- 100 g. all-purpose flour
- 1 spoon Oregano
- 4 Eggs
- 100 g. Breadcrumbs
- 60 g. Sesame seeds (white and black)
- 300 ml Sunflower oil (for frying)
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
For the sauce
- Put all the ingredients in the blender and grind well.
- Then transfer the sauce to a saucepan and put it on low heat to thicken.
For the halloumi
- Place a large frying pan over high heat and pour the sunflower oil. Put the flour, oregano, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix. Set aside.
- Put the eggs in another bowl and beat them well with a whisk. Set aside.
- Then put the breadcrumbs with the sesame seeds in a tray and also keep them aside.
- Then, place the halloumi sticks one by one into the batter of flour, eggs and breadcrumbs. Dip each halloumi piece into the batter until well coated.
- Transfer to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Finally, serve them warm, with the sauce on the side.
